This course is aimed at staff that work with, or oversee others who are dealing with property management on a day to day basis. The day will focus on practical aspects of property management and the importance of the contracts between the parties.

The day will cover the following topics:

• Contractors — qualifications and insurances, landlords preferred contractor
• Contractual obligations for contractors
• Dealing with repairs
• Safety considerations for contractors
• Access and property visits
• Protection from Eviction Act 1977 — Protection from Harassment Act 1997
• Landlord repairing obligations and landlord breaches
• Tenant introducing an occupier
• Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS)
• MEE – Minimum Energy Efficiency Standards
• HMO property — non-licenced, licenced, selective licence
• Early surrender
• Legionella and Asbestos
